The Nottely Reservoir Trail is a favorite with locals.

We drive over the Dam several times when we are riding our motorcycles every June. It was okay. This is a must see if you love the outdoors!! I only has a few minutes at the pull-off, just long enough to take some beautiful photographs and read the markers/signs describing the history of the dam. Visitor centers, trails, boat ramps, and canoe access points operated by TVA are provided to the public with no fee.

My mother tells me that there are a lot of water moccasins in this lake so be careful when swimming but there were several good entryways into the water. But is it a great picture place and nice place to stop and take in the views and scenery. Pets welcome but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6-feet. Terms; This map was created by a user. The current response to the COVID-19 emergency has closed several trails and recreation sites in Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests. This is a must see if you love the outdoors!!

TVA is a partner of Leave No Traceand requests that visitors follow Leave No Trace practices, including picking up after your pet. A shorter trail, the mile long Nottely Tailwater Trail, takes hikers down to the Nottely River and picnic area below the dam; hikers can make a loop using the access road. sadly, we weren't able to complete the loop because the trail was flooded and we couldn't find a way around. Nothing special about the dam in my opinion.

The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, running, and nature trips. Nottely Dam, Georgia topographic map and nearby trails. Not a super busy trail. Great little trail with stop points and rest benches with beautiful views of the lake and quite a few spots to jump in the water for a swim if you desire! It is broken up into 4 parts by color.
